我哋fade cycle第5週收到最多嘅一條customer問題，version唔同但內容差唔多：「我而家呢個色係咪正常？洗唔洗refresh？」對大部分customer嚟講，答案closer to「呢個係你買嗰隻shade嘅下半截，好多人其實鍾意呢半多過第一半」。Vivid color冇single一個final form。第1週saturated一個form、第4至6週軟啲淺啲、好多時更日常wearable嘅另一個form。Fade唔係個顏色散晒。Fade係大部分customer都未realize自己buy埋嗰個second color。呢篇文map清楚specific MP shade去到第6週變成乜，等你可以planning個fade作為feature、唔係當佢defect處理。
背後個chromophore chemistry喺篇24有講，set咗個structure。Cool family（藍、紫、violet）用larger fused-ring chromophore，嚟自anthraquinone同naphthoquinone family，坐得耐，fade到自己嘅lower-saturation版本、residual chromophore仲喺cortex入面produce visible color。Warm family（紅、橙、粉紅）用細啲嘅azo同related cation chromophore，fade快啲，fade得乾淨啲，因為azo分子喺N=N bond斷開、兩半分開之後就唔再produce顏色、唔係partial-produce。兩個family個fade aesthetic唔同、亦都predictable。
點解第6週個顏色唔係失敗
Customer第5週嗰種失望，一般係比較問題。佢哋腦入面個reference image係搽色嗰日影嗰張第1週相。去到第5週，saturation跌咗30至50 percent、brightness升咗、underlying tone shift咗去原本嗰隻shade嘅pastel或者dusty版本。如果你拎第5週對第1週比，你會見「個色散緊」。如果你拎第5週對其他人嘅自然髮色比，你會見「仲係vivid，淨係另一個版本嘅自己」。
呢個shift唔係random。同一隻shade run過幾次fade cycle嘅MP customer，每次都report到consistent嘅fade-to color。Cool family每次都fade過同一啲intermediate color。Warm family每次都fade過同一啲intermediate color。一旦你知你隻shade fade到去邊度，你就可以decide：第3週refresh留喺saturated zone、定係讓佢ride到第5週落pastel zone、定係淨係refresh髮根（套一層deeper嘅第1週色喺faded嘅第5週長度上面）。Fade係tool、唔係failure。
Cool family fade map（anthraquinone同naphthoquinone）
Cool family慢慢fade過自己嘅軟啲、dusty啲、好多時偏pastel嘅版本。MP customer report加埋retailer product description confirm以下嘅directional trajectory，喺漂咗嘅頭髮上面（level 8至10 base）：
After Midnight（第1週深teal blue）喺yellow-leaning bleach base上面fade向dusty teal、跟住到第4至5週變一層帶綠調嘅aqua。喺platinum（level 10）base上面個fade keep得近soft mid-blue。MP own FAQ guidance寫得清楚：藍色pigment搽落yellow base「can veer toward a more teal or green hue」。如果你漂base係level 9而唔係level 10，你隻After Midnight個fade會偏綠。
Plum Passion（深red-violet）fade向mauve、跟住dusty grey-mauve。「Mauve Grey」呢個tone喺retailer description入面出現，因為Plum Passion係warm-leaning purple；個chromophore嗰份warmer red比cooler violet fade快少少，剩低嘅violet底就變一個軟啲嘅grey-mauve、唔係clean lavender。大部分customer report呢個係wearable嘅second-half color、唔係failure。
Purple Haze（warm purple帶red undertone）fade方向同Plum Passion一樣係warm-purple direction但坐得耐啲；retailer copy寫住Purple Haze「will leave warm purple tones as it fades」。喺Amplified上面，customer report Purple Haze run得足6個禮拜先到dusty stage。
Ultra Violet（cool true purple）fade axis同Plum Passion、Purple Haze相反。Cool violet chromophore先degrade、剩低pink-rose component visible。Customer report個fade係「a pretty lavender tone with pinks starting to show again」。如果你specifically想第4週landing lavender，Ultra Violet就係嗰隻start shade。
Voodoo Blue（dark cyan帶green undertone）fade向更軟啲嘅aqua帶green tint。呢隻係下面講嘅green ghost intermediate最容易出現嗰隻shade。
Shocking Blue（cobalt-cyan blue）喺漂咗嘅頭髮上面fade過一個community-reported嘅「blue到purple到pink」arc；呢隻shade係customer相入面multi-stage fade show得最清楚嗰隻。有啲customer鍾意pink end-stage本身、按嗰個stage time個refresh。
Bad Boy Blue（royal cobalt加埋green / grey undertone）fade去dusty green-grey blue。原本formula嘅green同grey undertone會帶入fade、喺yellow-leaning嘅base上面成為subtle green tint。
Velvet Violet（MP catalog入面而家擺嗰個Creamtone Pastel版本）第1週係pastel orchid帶pink undertone，第2至3週fade到軟啲嘅pastel pink，longevity係Creamtone-class 2至4個禮拜、唔係Classic嗰個4至6個禮拜range。值得知，因為如果你買Velvet Violet expect Classic longevity，你會比預期早refresh。
Warm family fade map（azo同小分子cation）
Warm family fade快啲、亦都乾淨啲。紅色同橙色行過自己嘅軟啲版本嗰個stage、跟住trail off向washed-out、跟住refresh就necessary。Intermediate stage比cool family elaborate少啲，因為個chromophore cleavage chemistry更binary（azo bond要嘛cleave、要嘛唔cleave）。
Vampire Red（deep blood red）fade到自己嘅pinker版本、唔會fade到去coral或者peach。HubPages嗰個Vampire Red customer review講得好precise：「Vampire Red is pink-based, and as it fades, it doesn't fade to pure pink but rather to a more pinkish red color. The strongest reds fade after a few weeks, but the red itself stays in the hair for a long time at more of a pink color.」如果你想landing coral或者peach，Vampire Red就唔係嗰隻start shade；你想揀一隻真正orange-leaning嘅紅色（Pillarbox Red、Wildfire、或者Psychedelic Sunset）。
Rock 'N Roll Red（warm red加埋pink/purple undertone）係community widely reported會fade去dusty rose tones、特別係喺cooler-leaning嘅bleach base上面。Amplified版本嘅Rock 'N Roll Red比Classic多30%嘅pigment、routinely run 6至8個禮拜先到dusty stage；Classic版本嘅Rock 'N Roll Red follow standard 4至6週baseline。其他community report講喺warmer bleach base上面fade direction會係orange-toned red，所以bleach base undertone對fade direction嚟講有meaningful影響。如果你嘅target就係dusty rose，Rock 'N Roll Red係MP catalog入面最closest direct path。

Psychedelic Sunset（orange帶red base）fade到一個淺啲嘅橙色，customer形容closer to natural ginger。呢隻係幾隻fade-to color本身就係wearable everyday color嗰隻shade之一。
Wildfire、Infra Red、Pretty Flamingo、Pillarbox Red、加埋Hot Hot Pink fade作為自己嘅軟啲、淺啲版本，冇strongly documented嘅intermediate-stage character。個chromophore chemistry（細啲嘅cation dye、cleavage快啲）predict到一個relatively binary嘅fade trajectory：saturation跌、brightness升、但underlying hue留喺同一個family、唔shift去新color。為咗fade planning目的，當佢哋係「你買嗰隻shade、淨係saturated一半加埋淺少少」就啱。
Electric Banana（黃色）fade快過任何其他MP shade。MP own UK guidance寫得explicit：「lighter colours and pastel shades will fade the fastest」，Electric Banana就係喺嗰個category入面、quote個working range係4至10 washes之內就會明顯lift去pale yellow或者near-blonde。如果黃色係個look，按呢個plan refresh。
特殊嗰幾隻shade
Atomic Turquoise係MP任何一隻shade入面「fades beautifully」呢個character被report得最多嗰隻。Community report個fade係一個sea green tone帶soft blue同green hue，大約一個月加上多次洗頭之後變到pale aqua。Chromophore class sit喺cool同warm之間，green-blue split fade到mint同aqua嘅intermediate stage。
Enchanted Forest（深teal green帶blue undertone）fade向更淺嘅sage或者mint，視乎漂base幾乾淨。冇好heavily customer-documented因為綠色vivid冇藍色或者紫色咁popular、但個chromophore-class prediction hold。
Raven（cool blue-black）嘅fade report係MP任何shade之中最contradictory嗰隻。有啲customer report fade向violet或者plum tone（consistent with formula入面嗰啲cool undertone）。有啲report fade向green喺yellow bleach base上面。Fade direction幾乎完全視乎underlying嘅yellow tone搽Raven之前neutralised得幾完整。如果你漂base係level 8至9（仲warm yellow），Raven fade green。如果你漂base toned去platinum先，Raven fade cool violet。Beautylish嗰條thread literally叫做「Manic Panic Raven Black turned hair green. Help!」之所以存在，就係因為呢樣嘢頻繁到值得開個forum。
大家擔心嗰兩個intermediate stage
兩個specific嘅intermediate-stage color喺customer panic email入面出現得頻繁到值得有自己嘅name。
The green ghost。當一隻藍色、teal、或者cool-leaning嘅shade喺一個未完全neutralised嘅bleach base上面fade（level 8至9 yellow-toned blonde、唔係level 10 platinum），residual blue chromophore會同underlying yellow base optically mix、出一層green cast。呢個唔係個色failing。係漂底透出嚟。Fix係upstream：搽之前先將base tone到platinum。如果你唔想re-bleach，呢一個cycle不如lean into個green-blue intermediate（styling啱嘅話可以睇得intentional）、又或者下一次early少少refresh、喺green stage show出嚟之前mask走佢。MP own FAQ guidance喺After Midnight上面直接name咗呢樣嘢：藍色搽落yellow base「can veer toward a more teal or green hue」。
The ugly orange phase。當一隻warm purple（Plum Passion、Purple Haze）喺第3至4週行過warm-cool crossover嗰陣，customer會briefly見到一個orange-pink intermediate，唔似第1週嘅saturated purple、亦都唔似第5週嘅dusty mauve。呢個係個chromophore嗰份warm component degrade快過cool component。呢個intermediate係real、喺大部分warm purple上面visible。Fix係第3週refresh（喺crossover之前）、又或者等佢過去到第5週（喺crossover landed去dusty mauve之後）。跳過中間先係嗰一move；唔好喺crossover期間refresh、否則你會收到一個muddy嘅purple-on-orange mix，比任何一個pure stage都難搞。
計住fade嚟揀shade
一旦你accept fade係shade嘅下半截，你就可以intentionally用佢。三個practical pattern：
The 2-stage wardrobe approach。揀一隻你第1週同第5週版本都actively鍾意嘅shade。Ultra Violet到lavender。Plum Passion到dusty mauve。Atomic Turquoise到sea green。Rock 'N Roll Red到dusty rose。搽落去，享受saturated stage 2至3個禮拜、再享受faded stage 2至3個禮拜，跟住refresh再repeat。你per application得到兩個look、唔係一個。呢個係MP HK editorial recommendation built on top of篇24嘅chromophore chemistry；好多long-term vivid customer喺practice入面run個fade cycle就係咁嘅樣。
The「target the fade」approach。揀一隻你想第4至5週landing嘅color，跟住start嗰個family嘅saturated版本。想要lavender就由Ultra Violet入手。想要dusty mauve就由Plum Passion入手。想要sea green就由Atomic Turquoise入手。頭2個禮拜嘅saturated color係cost of admission；第4至5週嘅fade先係destination。Work得通嘅原因係個chromophore chemistry係predictable嘅；fade-to係built into原本嗰隻shade、唔係之後再加上去。
The「mid-cycle refresh」approach（篇07有講同篇06有講）。如果你想留喺saturated zone、唔想見到個fade，第3週用手快速re-application一次同一隻shade落乾髮、5至10分鐘就夠。呢個keep你喺第1週zone再多2至3個禮拜、亦都完全跳過晒intermediate stage。最啱嗰啲specifically想saturated look、當fade係time-to-refresh signal而唔係second color嘅customer。
三個pattern都有一個condition factor：fade quality視乎漂base同洗頭routine。Level 10 platinum出最乾淨嘅fade。Level 8 yellow-leaning blonde出最dirty嘅fade。Sulfate-free shampoo（篇25有講）兩個stage都extend。冷水沖extend saturated stage。Sun exposure（UV）加埋HK summer ozone（篇06有講）shorten saturated stage、加速個fade。
